Shipping costs for a 20-foot container were $15,100, up 907% from $1,500 in 2020.
The cost of container transportation in the EU market has also risen by +900%, the Middle East market has risen by +400%, the Japanese market has risen by +350%, and the Australian market has risen by +500%. The supply of containers has been difficult, especially for containers destined for the United States. At these costs, it is unprofitable to ship these products. According to HIMKI statistics, 25% of the 2,500 registered member companies went bankrupt due to high shipping costs
